Ernest A. “Spike” Haas started Spike’s Door Service in 1962, after working nine years for the old Haas Door Company, which has since closed. Covering the Perrysburg area in his bright orange panel truck, Spike was undoubtedly the most highly skilled garage door technician of his time. Combining a rare mix of mechanical wizardry with the attention to detail of a craftsman, Spike’s Door led the way in insisting on high quality workmanship. In 1978, Spike’s son Nick came on board and was mentored until his every move matched the example of the master. Spike’s Door Service has always been a family centered business, and now the next generation is poised to follow the lead.

We are definitely your best option when you find yourself with a broken spring. Our truck is fully stocked with ready made torsion springs that cover nearly any residential application. Many times we can even cover 9-10 ft. tall doors without special ordering. You will not be pressured to upgrade to “extended life” springs or replace parts that seldom wear out. In fact, “extended life” springs are often not the best option - and even more so when an inexperienced technician does not install the correct springs.
